Team Spain

Hey everyone!
I just wanted to give you all a quick update and ask that you'd please pray for our homeless ministry here in Mallorca. As Becky has said before, every Wednesday night we go out and pass out sandwiches to the homeless men and women in Palma (the main city on the island). This really has been one of the main highlights of our time here in Spain. We have met some really interesting people and have been touched by their lives and their stories. So far, two of the men we've been iteracting with have come with us to the corps for the Spanish service on Saturday nights. Guillermo has been twice, and Carlos came for the first time last week. Carlos is addicted to drugs and has been living out on the street ever since his family kicked him out. He still visits them to shower and have some food, but most of his time is spent sleeping on park benches and eating what he can find. Through the past three weeks we've seen Carlos' interest in God grow, he's been asking a lot of questions and really having deep conversations with Michael and Francisco. Tonight Francisco spent nearly the whole time talking with Carlos, and when we went back to pick him up, we were overjoyed to learn that Carlos had accepted Christ! This is a huge step for him, and its amazing the way that God was able to use Francisco to reach out to ths hurting and lonely man. During the conversation Carlos shared with Paco that he was considering commiting suicide only a short while ago. Now Carlos has a hope, and a future in Christ. We just pray that he is able to find the sufficient help that he needs to stay clean and get back on his feet. Please join us in continuously lifting Carlos up in prayer! That he will remain faithful and grasp the decision he has made to recieve God's salvation! Please, also pray for the rest of the homeless men and women as we continue to share the love of Christ with them. We are so humbled and blessed by these experiences, and we know that God is at work through us... and that seeds that are being planted now will continue to grow even as we leave here in a few short weeks. Thanks so much for your prayer support! We are having a great time and learning lots of new things. We love hearing from everyone on the other service corps teams and everyone back at home. You're all in our prayers!

Goodnight from Spain! God Bless you!

Rachel
