Sowubona!

Sowubona everyone!

That means hello in Zulu! Well, three weeks have flown by here in South Africa.

We have been to so many different places already and we experience new things everyday! We have been to Johannesburg of course, Venda, Vleifontein, Mpumolonga, Emangweni, Barberton, and in the next few weeks we will be going to Mayfair and Lesotho! So exciting!

Anyway, I just to share a few things that have happened in the last week! We were in the Northern Division of the South African Territory! Vleifontain in Venda to be exact! We did a Y-connexion there and it was amazing! We got there on Tuesday night after we had an awesome visit to Kruger National Park. We saw elephants, giraffes, Rhinos, Cheetahs, Zebras, Hippos! It was amazing!

Anyway, we got to Venda Tuesday night for the start of the Y-connexion on Wednesday. We stayed at the Corps Sergeant Majors house for the Vleifontain Corps. She was awesome! The hardest part about the living conditions in the places we travel is the lack of running water. Because of that factor, we sometimes go a couple days without bathing and when we do bathe, it is in a hardly filled bathtub that is filled with a bucket. The conditions are pretty tough. But we are getting used to it and the ministry that we are involved in makes it totally worth it!

The Y-connexion was awesome! It was so good to interact with the young people! They are all very real and when we do programs, they all participate! Singing is such a prominent form of worship here...and without instruments. Randomly during services, someone will start a chorus (in another language of course) and everyone will start singing along. It is really awesome...maybe we can start that in the US! So far, I have learned about 5 songs in Zulu...but its pretty challenging.

The team is definitely being stretched as far as public speaking goes! We each probably average two messages a week...and some do more than that. I think the experience is really going to help us when we go home. We have to be very energetic during the services too...there isn't time for laziness. We always have a GO GO GO mentality! Its amazing how the mission team can keep this up for a whole year. I definitely have mucho respect for them!

Anyway...it's late and I must get to bed.

If you guys want to know anything about Africa, feel free to ask! I would love to hear from all of you...can't promise any of us can get back to you right away because we only have computer access for a couple days at a time, but we will try when we do get access!

I'll post again ASAP!

Love from Team SA!

Nick
